Many people purchase domain names for many different purposes. Some of these investments into domain names are larger then others. What would you pay for a high quality domain name that would ensure you intense traffic and true success?

While this answer varies per individual or company, many buyers for gambling domain names will fork out an easy $1,000 to the astonishing $25 million. Yes, $25 million for a domain name. And why not? This industry is a multi-billion dollar business and has proven time and time again to be extremely profitable to both owners and players alike.

Paul Wilson, a domain name expert at e21.com, has started a new site at http://GamblingNames.com, which is set up in a way for buyers to find the perfect domain name for their needs. And picking the right domain name for your business is one of the biggest tasks in starting up. This is what will drive traffic to your site and bring you the profits you desire by attracting both new players and the big time high rolling players.

And now, online gambling site owners are able to finance the purchase of their domain name with 0% interest. At http:///GamblingNames.com you are also dealing and consulting directly with the owners themselves to ensure high customer care and product knowledge.

It’s one stop shopping for all of your domain name needs at http://GamblingNames.com.

I was reading a post on SEO Fast Start regarding an SEO hack that google intentionally covered up for more than a year. The author of the post said that he had to keep it to himself because letting it out without giving them a chance to fix the problem would have been irresponsible.

I see that, if you tell the entire internet how to hack each other out of Google, you’re going to cause some havoc I suppose. However, I don’t agree still, you were quite why again? Oh that’s right, it would have caused problems for a billion dollar company.

If this would have come out a year ago, not only would his friend not have had all the problems he had, it would be fixed by now, and many webmasters, smaller webmasters that perhaps don’t have the money to fix the problem.. wouldn’t have to be dealing with it, without even knowing that they are actually dealing with something.

If you were to publicize a hack, something huge, that chopped people right out of the search engines.. with how to directions, and step by step images.. what do you suppose would happen?

Every person out there that is willing to use these tacticts would.

Then Google would have to either stand up and take notice, or deal with the media backlash whilst yahoo becomes number one.

The hack we’re talking about today is a 302 redirect, whereas a blackhat seo ‘expert’ links their copy of your site through a proxy, later, Google comes along and spiders, through the proxy, and then lists their duplicate page in the search engine rankings, instead of your page.

Literally stealing the food out of your children’s mouths huh? Now I’m not judging the guys that kept their mouths shut.. well yeah, yeah I am. But I’m not judging them as people, you do what you think is best at the time.. I’m just disagreeing with them, as I am sure that all of the people that were taken advantage of by this hack are doing as well.

302 redirect google hack302 redirect, google hack

It’s about 4:14am PST, August 23rd, and as far as I can tell Google is down! Google is my ‘home page’ so at first, when the Google page I was trying to load wouldn’t, I hit the home button. Nothing.. every now n then though I have to cycle my router (y’know unplug it, wait, plug it back in) so I did that, I thought my internet provider was down.

Nope, it was Google. I flushed my DNS, deleted temp files cookies.. I waited a few minutes, then I decide to come blog about it here. Who knows, maybe they got googled up while updating the PR! But.. this site was down too! Odd.. so I go to an escort site I own, it’s working fine, I try DP, no dice.

Every site I know of with Google Ads, wouldn’t load, the entire site, wouldn’t load. What a difference Google can make.

There has been much speculation recently regarding the most recently expected Google Page Rank Update. Some say it’s already happened, some say it simply isn’t going to. There was an article floating around saying that Google was switching from what we all know and love.. and fear as Google Page-Rank to Google Webrank.

I orininally disregarded the article, why would google just change. I betchya PageRank is a helluva search term! If they’re going to continue with the measurement, no since in changing the name, and from the article I originally read, that was about all that was set to change.

However, after reading a post on digital point, I am beginning to wonder if perhaps Google isn’t changing something, and it didn’t work out exactly as they’d hoped, as a member on DP pointed out.

The DP member theorized that the first few people that did see some signs of a Google pagerank update on inner pages, the people that are well known and to be trusted type people, that were basically ignored upon their announcements, perhaps it’s true. Perhaps these few people’s websites were updated, minimally, just to test a new algo by Google.

But it didn’t go as planned, it needed some tweekage.. and now we wait. Of course, being that PR Updates are not (per google) a real big priority, there is no reason for them to share the toolbar update info with us.. sooo we wait some more.

As of now however, with nothing but time to kill before advertising slots are filled, links are sold, and PR sales commence, there’s not a whole lot to do, aside from speculate, blog, and wonder, will the Google PR Update ever come, or as some have said, is the tradition gone forever?

Of course there’s always the webmaster forum to ponder the issue in.

Being webmasters, we look for the best deal we can find for what we need, right? We look for a reputable hosting company for as little as possible, we search for domain coupons before we buy, and the forum is full of free templates, scripts, and on and on. Its just makes since not to over spend if you don’t have to.

I also take this outside of my web world and search for the best deals I can find online before I go buy anything in the stores. I would like to share one of my secrets, couponchief.com. They have coupons for 100’s of stores. Not just big land based stores but the popular online stores as well.

Here are a few examples of what I use from couponchief.com. Office Depot, I do used them for some of my off line promotion materials. Right now there are six total coupons like15% off Office Depot brand inks which makes them less than the big discount stores and 30-50% on Select Clearance items and I am a sucker for clearance.

One of my many favorite online stores is Overstock.com. Eleven total coupons there now and I order there anyway, so why not save a little. Save 7% off orders (Expires soon so hurry!), free shipping for new customers with orders over $50 and a lot more.

They even have coupons for one of my favorite stores I just can’t stay out of….BestBuy. 40 coupons in all! From games to refrigerators, flash drives to computers it is all there. 15% off all Disney DVD’s, 10% off flash drives, and the one I will going for now…$50 - $70 off GPS systems. I see an afternoon at BestBuy deciding on Magellan, Garmin or TomTom!

No store seems to be left out in that huge list…Kmart, Target, Wal Mart, Home Depot and all the well known stores are represented. Before you buy anything, it would be well worth a few minutes to check out couponchief.com and see if they can save you some money. Good chance there is a coupon for it!

If you own a website then you should have a robot.txt file. All a robot.txt file does is give search engine spiders commands on what to look at and what not to. This file is easy to set up and rarely will you have to edit it once it is done. Here is a short how to guide to making a robot.txt file.

Basically, a robot.txt file tells search engines where not to go. Maybe your site has a page or folder with statistics, scripts or if in a CMS, an admin folder you do not want to show up in a search engine list. For whatever reason, if you do not want something to show in search engine results, the robot.txt is where you can say that.

This file can be made with any word processor (like Word or Notepad) and is saved as a .txt file. It is then uploaded into you root folder of your server. Search engines will see this first and follow the commands in it before continuing through your site.

The robot.txt file is a really simple file that contains two lines in it:

User-agent:

Disallow:

The first line identifies the search engine spider you want to communicate with.

User agent: * - tells all spiders to follow the commands in the file

User-agent: googlebot – tells Google only

User-agent: scooter – tells Alta Vista only

You can find a list of specific search engine spider names here.

The second line tells the spider(s) to skip this certain URL on your site:

Disallow: /privatestats.htm - will tell spider(s) to skip the web page privatstats.htm

You can also tell the spider(s) to skip whole folders of your site:

Disallow: /administrator/ - will tell spider(s) to skip the folder administrator on your site

The robot.txt is a very useful and powerful tool and lets you interact with the search engines that are coming to your site. It gives you a little control as to the direction you want them to take through your site. If you own a website, take the time to make a robot.txt it will be well worth it.

When we first started out, we earned pennies a week with Google Adsence ads, now we earn what can be considered an income.

An alternative to Google Adsence would be Yahoo’s version; Yahoo Publisher Network.

Text Link Ads

The blog also makes money from text link ads, we sell links on both the affiliate marketing forum and blog, usually with a three month purchase minimum, how much we charge generally depends on recent website traffic trends, current Google PR, and market price of links when and where we’re selling them, most often through Text Link Ads.

These links generally involve a footer, or blogroll link with search engine optimized anchor text.

Paid Website Reviews

Our Web Marketing team also utilizes paid blogging websites such as ReviewMe, Sponsored Review and PayPerPost to earn a profit from blogging, occasionally you will see honest reviews posted by one of us of various products and services on the internet, these reviews pay per review. Therefore the blog earns a predetermined amount for displaying the review.

The paid reviews provide other website owners with inner textual backlinks, the links are guaranteed to be on topic, because it’s their site we are blogging about. Not only do people that buy these reviews benefit from our PR, Ranking etc, in the value of a link, they also benefit through WAC’s traffic.

Depending on your blogging frequency, there’s actually quite a bit of cash available for websites that offer this sort of service, www.contentreviewjournal.com is pretty much based on income from this source.

Promoting Amazon.com

I’m a reader, whenever I start something new, I read everything I can find on the topic a few weeks before embarking on the adventure, whether it be potty training my son, or building a brand new website from the ground up, if I’ve done it, I’ve read a book or two about it.

That in mind, it’s always a good idea to offer a few resources whenever you’re discussing something on your blog; especially if it’s a resource that you yourself used and benefited from. The Web Affiliate Blog uses Amazon.com’s affiliate program for this; if there’s a publication available that we find may be of use to our readers, we offer them the option to purchase the publication through our affiliate link.

Selling Banner Space

On occasion Web Affiliate Creators also offers banner space for sale, we probably could earn a lot more blogging via this method, however to be honest, we just don’t spend enough time and energy on it these days. At any rate, you can charge a monthly fee for displaying someone else’s banner, you can charge per click, or per impression.

The more traffic a site receives, the more the site can charge for banner space. When thinking in terms of whom to sell to, both you and your banner space buyer will mutually benefit from keeping your banner ads as on topic as possible.

Blog Feed Advertising

Monetize your blog through RSS feed syndication! RSS subscribers are fans of your website, so much so that they have taken the time to subscribe and make sure they don’t miss a post. Don’t forget about them, RSS feed advertising can prove to be very profitable to bloggers, the most popular is likely feed burner, however, if you choose to go with them, you will have to wait for an invitation to their ads program.

We have all wondered, if not actually asked, how good is my website? Is it running at top potential? Am I getting the most out of it? Can I make it better?

Most of us have some form of stat programs giving us hits, unique visitors, referral ip’s and all that and this is helpful information but does it really answer the question as to how effective a site is? Those of you with e-commerce sites may think you can by the number of sales generated each month. Can you really tell how many you could have or how many you may be losing because of your site? Not really, all these statistics have a purpose but can not help you with the effectiveness of your site and how many people you nay be chasing away because of some small detail you have over looked.

So there are two options here. Spend a lot of money and have someone analyze your site for you. In all honesty though, would you follow their recommendation? You have a lot of time and effort in your site and if you would told to change or it, or even rebuild it, would you act? The second option is to analyze the site yourself and ask the set of questions below. You will need to answer these questions honestly though and when you are done, ask some friends to answer the same questions. This will help to see if your answers compare to theirs and maybe take out some of the bias you may have.

1. Does Your Website Have A Purpose? – Is it for entertainment, e-commerce, marketing, tutorial or what ever? Does your site clearly display that purpose?

2. Is Your Website Focused? - You have 10 seconds to make an impression on your visitor. Is your site clear, good information and/or have a clear direction on how to get to pertinent answers?

3. How Functional Is Your Website? – Do links works, no errors, contact information up to date and everything running smoothly with no errors?

4. Does Your Website’s Balance Clarity with Aesthetics? – Is it all flash and no content? More SEO tricks than ease of navigation? Are you trying to sell a product or service that is not even working well on your site?

5. Does your website honestly reflect your business personality? Are you marketing your business correctly? Are you enhancing your business personality with image building, branding and good marketing practices?

6. Is your website integrated into your overall marketing plan? – Does your website match what your company actually does? Your web site should be integrated into your overall marketing strategy.

7. Is content king on your website? Is it up to date, informative and helpful to your visitors? Will it answer the question they are looking for?

8. Is your website an experience? – A website should be interactive, getting you visitor involved in your site and helping find their own solution just enhances the

9. Does your website have a distinctive look? Is it sharp and professional, have good colors, functional and a distinct personality all its own. Does it match your business personality?

10. Do you list appropriate contact information on your website? – Visitors will feel more comfortable with having some sort of contact with your site. Make sure that all the contact information is current and in good working order.

Honestly answer these ten questions and then you will have your answer as to whether your site is truly as effective as it can be.
